The scarecrow stands with straw poking out of its sleeves, hat and pant legs, arms stretched wide as if greeting the field. It wears a patched plaid shirt, a polka-dot vest and tie, and mended trousers on a single wooden post surrounded by tall grass. The drawing uses bold, simple outlines with large areas for coloring. Try warm autumn tones for the clothes and yellow-brown shades for the straw.
